Who broke the dish? Did they look all over for the button that fell of the shirt and rolled off into the crack in the floor? Who spilled all the beads that keep turning up in the nooks and crannies??
And then once in a while you find a treasure...
Scott found a little tiny enameled pin (as in jewelery, not to sew with)... I think it's just charming! Now I can just sit back and wonder who it belonged to... and how long it's been under the floor boards!!!
May I also say, I am so very lucky to be married to a guy who can not only fix an old house that is in need of SO much repair, but also appreciate how much i love all this stuff... When he finds even the tiniest bead or button, he stops what he's doing and come to find me, and deliver my treasure! (you can see how this slows down progress too.....but I like to think that's just us slowing down and "savoring the good moments" in life...)
I am saving all the bits and pieces like a little Magpie... my stash of goodies is growing steadily ~ and I shall be the envy of alllllll the Magpies!!!
I think it is just fantastic that you enjoy all the little trinkets that you find. I would be equally excited by it.
ReplyDeleteThat pin is just gorgeous! Thank you for sharing it with us.
You are most welcome, thanks for looking! Stay tuned, you never know what will turn up next! :)
ReplyDeleteThe pin is lovely indeed. Does it inspire you for more craftiness?
ReplyDeleteGreat to read how both of you can appreciate and enjoy those good moments in life, finding the little treasures.
Very Cool! I would love to buy an old house just to go treasure hunting.
ReplyDeleteThis kind of thing always makes me think of the movie, The Borrowers.
I've not seen that moivie?? I have to say that finding "stuff" makes the old house adventure all the sweeter!!!
