June 16, 2014

My, my, my.... time does get away from me on a regular basis these days...
Let's play catch up again shall we?
What have we been up to....
There has been a bit of snail rescue.
Ever since that movie, Epic ~ well I just can't see them all alone crossing a sidewalk...
It just doesn't end well.
(and a recent story from a friend has given me even more snail inspiration.)
and a bit of pony riding.....
Yes, taken from atop me pony ~ me, driving with one hand?
I seem to have become a daredevil.
Whaa ahah hhahahahah haahaha,  yeah right.

                                                             Awwww  Yes, that's us!  :))0
Hubby and Cricket the Wonder Pony
JoJo and his new (to him) ear protector!
The garden is blooming along nicely.
Iris have bloomed (last few weeks) and gone.
                                                            Isn't that a stunning color?
A little glimpse thru my green house  (with no sides still... 80% done ?)
He's so cute... he's always watching.
And lest you think I NEVER draw anymore.... here's a little glimpse of art in progress.
The swans are a swimming. (We live on Swan Lane, what do you expect?)

And this one.  Pinchy T. Squirrel.
He's taken to digging holes in all our flower pots.
Came home yesterday to my pansy all over the ground beside the pot.
Seriously?
Can't you bury your nuts someplace else?
How about a nice road trip for the summer?
All my seedlings... digs those up too.
Jerk.
                                                                       *Deep breath*
anyway... here's a little closer in the fairy garden.
And then up to Maine... where these two doves were posing for me beside a pond.
                                                                This.... it's for sale.
I so want a store.... *sigh* and this one is already got "stuff" inside!
Don't worry... I won't do anything crazy.  I"m not the crazy one at our house.
I'm the boring sensible one... I've got the shoes to prove it.
But still, it doesn't stop me from dreaming a bit... a girl's got to have a dream!
Helloooo, wave to the camera girl!
This is one of my watering bubble things ~ ain't it pretty!!
                                                                      Just nod, it's fine....
And what would spring be without apple blossom time?
I do so love them.  (back in Maine)
                                                           My favorite old apple tree.
The art in progress, in more progress.
                                                                     Pretty blue......
JoJo ~ just cuz he's cute!
And in case we don't have enough to do....
Here's Hubby roasting his own coffee beans!
They look just like coffee beans huh?
And this is felty Cricket!  ~ NO, I did not make him... Hubby did!
He's got so many hidden talents huh?
Oh, and I should mention (Eve) that due to peer pressure from here and abroad,
he is now 100% done, rather than the usual 95%....  just to prove a point.  Ha ha ~
(All other projects will undoubtedly remain at the 95%. (or less?))
                                                                   Isn't he just adorable?
and one more thing ~  A project of mine... revived from many years ago, when I was between jobs and selling these to florist shops!  I decided to glue the rest of them together and finish them!
                                                            Sorry they are sideways...
Even the back of them gets a little love!
So there you have it ~ for now.
Don't worry, I never stop taking pictures...
I'll be back again before you know it!
                                                                  Happy June!

  2. Fascinating life you lead...here there and everywhere, with lots of critters to boot! Love the flowers, looks like the snow has gone then! :) I like the water bubble thing, does it water while you are away?? I love the little felted Cricket, he's cute, I've not tried that yet, not sure I'd be any good. Your bird houses are neat, are they nest boxes??Very pretty garden additions. Keep up the photos :) Be back soon.

    1. ha ha, yes snow is gone.... The water bubble has hollow stake on the bottom ~ submerge, it fills with water and you poke it in the soil to leak back out! You SHOULD try needle felting, it's fun; just don't poke your fingers, it hurts! :))) I should have put something with the bird houses to show scale... they are only 2 inches high ~ to poke into potted plants! They used to call them "mosquito houses" :)))))

  3. I am hugely impressed by this post - particularly two things....
    1. Roasting coffee beans???
    2. Touching snails???
I may never be the same again and I am still giggling about "got the shoes to prove it". Great line!

    1. Hubby's family (back a few generations) had a coffee business ~ so this desire to be one with the bean is in his jeans... errr, genes. :)))))
I only touch the snails with a "handle" (as my friend calls it) you won't find me kitchy coo-ing slugs! There was that mentally scarring incident as a child were I wound up flat on my back with slug slime between my toes... their slippery when you unwittingly step on them in night.
Please do come visit again sometime!

  4. It's so good to see the felted pony did get its eyes after all. ;-))) Maybe this can set an example for the remaining unfinished projects??
Love the bird houses. So pretty with the flowers painted on them. I bet the birds are going to fight each other to make it their house. They won't settle for less once they've seen such a house.
You are so brave for riding JoJo with one hand and taking pictures in the meantime. Why does he have these ear protectors? Sun burn?
The store is lovely. Who wouldn't want to live there and sell his/her own art? Don't think you'd be crazy if you considered moving there. Maybe it helps to make your dreams come true?

    1. I remain ever hopeful that one day a few more projects will come to completion. The peer pressure from abroad seemed to light a fire under him... sorry to have to use you that way! :)))) ha ha
The bird houses are actually tiny... 2" tall... for potted plants. Should have put a penny next to them for scale. Only wee bugs will fit in the hole! :)))
The store is on a teeny corner lot with a river/pond right behind it... so not much room for parking your pony, or your cargo van sadly... but YOU could live there, and I'd come to "work" each day! We could both sell our wares and have a good laugh while we were at it!!! Something to consider!

    2. I do hold hope that the pony finishing is a good sign for the rest of the projects... the peer pressure seemed to help (sorry to use you that way....) ha ha
The bird house is actually insect size... i should have added a penny for scale... about 2" high.
The ear wear for JoJo is to keep bugs from bugging him! ~ Helps with some of the head shaking to get them off!!
I think you should come on over and be the resident above the store ~ and I'll come to work each day to keep you company! ~ We'd be a great team!! :))))))))))))

  6. It is always full of life at your blog in a good way. Flowers look great and so pleased you are fitting so much into your days while the Spring/ Summer days are here. Loved seeing the swans, mine has not been around much on the shore this year. Guess what I have been drawing today, empty ones, gone pale and blue.
I think you should buy the shop, just joking, maybe if you win the lottery!

  7. This seems to be a year for snails! I saw a beautiful yellow striped one on vacation in Scotland...quite large, out for a stroll. I love the felted pony!! And Cricket is just the cutest thing pulling the cart. Glad you found time to catch up. Sorry about the squirrel. Our neighborhood thugs have planted several oak trees in my sadly neglected garden.

    1. Vacation is Scotland with strolling snails sounds delightful! :))))
Perhaps one day you can use the thug planted oak trees for firewood??
You just made me think that felty Cricket needs a wee cart to pull like life size Cricket has!!
      Thanks so much for visiting!!

Yes, Hubby can fix your house, boat, carve, cross stitch, felt and drive his real pony! (just not all at once!) Just don't ask him to fix your car or work on your plumbing! :)))))))
