Winter came down to our home one night
Quietly pirouetting in on silvery toed slippers of snow
and we were children once again.

It has been a delightfully wintery winter here~
Cold, and sharp with brilliant blue skies, just the way New England is supposed to be in winter.
snowing and blowing at times...
and cold enough to keep the snow, so that is squeaks under your shoes when you walk.
A brown, crunchy, cold and snowless winter is just not the same.
Of course I realize some of you are shaking your heads at me, go ahead ~ I don't mind.
Spring will be here before you know it, and the cold just a memory; so I will embrace it while I can.
Winter is the time for comfort, for good food, and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home. ....

Another gorgeous header photo you have taken !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful , the photos, the quotes, your sentiments about Winter ~ simply beautiful !
Your house looks so cozy and inviting , with amber glow of lights inside and a beautiful blanket of snow out on the lawn .
And my turn to now say ~ totally love your creative snow pony ;)
you are most welcome to come visit any time for a spot of tea by the fire~ :))))) and I'll even let you write on my pony if it snows!!
ReplyDeleteYes, this is so much better than a snowless 'brown' winter like we have. It almost makes me want to have snow ourselves ... almost. ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, great pictures Mel.
Beautiful snowy photos. it does look nice, and it does make you feel like a child again when it lands :) Love the horsey photo and the white bunny is just like my 'snowy' I had as a child:) We are up to our eyes in mud and water here ;(
ReplyDeleteI appreciate a big beautiful snow; having grown up in Colorado, we had a lot of it. Here in East Tennessee, we have some lovely soft snows, which stay around for only a day or so. I adore your yellow house! It looks charming, just my kind of style of home. Let us see inside it sometime!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so beautiful and I am glad to hear you are making the best of it and enjoying the snow. I love that white snow rabbit! Your home does look so warm and cosy and inviting. Well just rain here, lots and lots of rain actually, and mud. Your photographs capture it so well, thanks for letting us glimpse into your snowy world.
